Andaz Dubai

Luxury boutique staycation concept by Hyatt

Andaz Dubai – The Palm

Planning a staycation in a luxury boutique hotel at Palm Jumeirah Dubai? The newly opened Andaz Dubai, a concept 5 star hotel by Hyatt is the place to be. One of the best staycation spots in Dubai, with a perfect blend of eclectic Dubai style with contemporary cuisines and interiors, is; Andaz Dubai, located opposite the Nakheel mall at Palm Jumeirah.

Andaz Dubai caters to the audience with a chic taste and style. The grand luxurious property looks over at the iconic Burj al Arab from the infinity pool as well as from the modernly designed pool on the 14th floor. Andaz Dubai is definitely a hidden gem of a staycation spot at the Palm, with multiple F&B options, spacious suites, contemporary interior, and great service.

I had an opportunity to have a weekend getaway here and there are a number of things I love specifically about this place that I think I must share with all my readers and friends here.

The Interior

Let me start with one of the most unique features of this hotel: the interior. The suites and rooms are designed with great taste and style in mind. It’s like a frame grab from a movie scene. A perfect blend of leather seating, beautiful rugs, contemporary lighting.

The bath side, however, is more towards the minimalistic and modern side. I loved the idea that every photo I took there, looked like a scene from a movie, all because of the perfectly styled interior.

Mustafa Sheikh

If you are a photographer or blogger who enjoys taking photos during your staycations or travels, this suite is a gem for you. You can take such beautiful cinematic shots. In fact some of the shots I took here I shared them in a private color grading group, a lot of people compared them with Italian film director ‘Bernardo Bertolucci’s film ‘The conformist‘ surprisingly uses similar light patterns and setting. So if you are in the mood of a serious high-end photoshoot too, this place might be the one for you.

The photogenic setting is not limited to the room but also at the 14th floor pool area. Yes, let’s talk about that stunning pool area.

The Pool

Andaz Dubai – Mustafa Sheikh

Before I went to Andaz Dubai, I checked out the photos on google search, and in particular, the pool attracted me the most. When I got there, I was told there are two pools, one the outdoor infinity pool with Burj Al Arab view (must go for a swim there) and the other on the 14th floor. The weather was not as great so I decided to go to the pool on the 14th. What a beauty! I couldn’t help but go again during sunset to just take photos of this space.

A morning swim is highly recommended though, the pool area is completely empty in early mornings, so you have the pool to yourself. Make the most of it and the beautiful cabanas.

Restaurants at Andaz Dubai

The Locale

The Locale

is the lobby level high-end culinary experience. With a beautiful interior, outdoor and indoor seating, great menu to choose from and outstanding service, The locale is a place where I would revisit even when I am not staying at this hotel. If you visit during Dubai winters, Alfresco terrace (outdoor seating) is perfect for a cozy evening experience.

The dinner menu had something for everyone, and it tasted great. They also served us chicken wings, off the menu as a complimentary, which tasted really good as well. The photos here do not do justice to how good the meal was, however, the presentation and service was so good I couldn’t resist and I had to take a photo of my meal with my iPhone. The chef asked for any feedback or improvements, which is a very nice gesture and shows that the staff and chef actually care about the experience they deliver.

An underground spot, perfect for after-dinner drinks. KnoX is the place to go chill out and disconnect from the city hustle. KnoX hosts live DJs, great vibe and offer a cozy interior.

Andaz Dubai is one of the few eco-friendly hotels in Dubai. No plastic bottles, zero waste. No single-use plastic shower gel bottles. This does add to the costings I believe yet the effort from Andaz Dubai to contribute towards eco-friendliness is appreciable and worth mentioning. In Fact, I believe all hotel chains should follow a similar practice.

Rooms and Suites

Rooms and suites at Andaz Dubai come with all basic facilities + a beautiful modern interior. The suites have a beautiful sunset view. The blinds behind the bed can be rolled up (in most suites) that gives a beautiful sunset from the bed. The baths are spacious and modernly designed.

Living rooms are cozy and spacious with extra seating and couches if you plan to invite any of your guests.

Final thoughts

With great service, great views, beautifully designed interior, I might do another weekend staycation here.

If you are a Dubai resident and looking for a small weekend break not far out from the city, Andaz Dubai The Palm is for you.

If you are a tourist, visiting Dubai and want to stay at The Palm, with easy access to all things to do at The Palm Jumeirah you will like your stay here at Andaz Dubai.

Do not forget to take beautiful photos at the pool and in the room.
